ceMuse is a student-run online magazine in which students of CEMUS and Uppsala University provide commentary and in-depth pieces on the issue of Sustainable Development that are interesting and important to the writer and the wider audience.
So… What is this Sustainable Development?
The use of resources at rates that do no exceed the capacity of the Earth to replace them..
Ok.. to put it more simply, it’s creating a world that accepts, adheres to and understands it’s limits and responsibilities to humanity and nature.
Sustainable Development is a trans-boundary subject, and one which has been recognised as paramount to ensure our continued survival on this finite planet. It covers the social, economic, environmental and political realms in the hope of creating an existence which has both longevity and consciousness, whilst being responsive to external, constantly changing, pressures.
We hope that ceMuse will provide some sort of starting point for those exploring, questioning and reasoning with this rather undefined, yet hugely relevant concept.
