Uppsala was host to a cultural carnival locally known as the Kulturernas Karnival during the weekend of May 21-22. Concentrated in Engelska parken, the festival featured dance performances, workshops, food, activities for children and tons of music. Through the focus on arts, the festival provided opportunities for artists of every kind to showcase their work and craft. The festival also provided a chance to celebrate different cultures and traditions and for participants to represent their culture or cultures with pride. On Saturday, the festival included a parade through downtown Uppsala.
